2009 Scholarship Recipients

Patrick Slaney
Massachusetts Maritime Acedemy

Patrick just returned from Mass Maritime's annual Sea Term Cruise. He visited Curacao in the Dutch Antilies, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and Miami, Florida.
Patrick has been extremely successful at Mass Maritime Academy and has had a number of accomplishments. Including, being chosen as the Guidon Bearer, a military tradition that only 7 of 300 Freshman are given this responsibility. Playing for the school's men's soccer program he was named as Mass Maritime's Athlete of the week as well as MASCAC Conference Athlete of the week. He was elected Mass Maritime's ROTC Class Leader. Patrick was also awarded the Masters Award on behalf of the Emergency Management Department during sea term, this is only given to 5 freshmen each year.
